DUBLIN PLAYWRIGHT
Dublin born and bred, Suzanne Lakes’ plays have delighted audiences in theatres across the city. Hilarious Dublin wit spoken by real characters often tinged by tragedy, showcases her unique talent. Her writing makes you laugh out loud and cry at the same time.
As a playwright Suzanne has written, produced and performed in five of her own plays. These include ‘Goodnight Alice’ , ‘I Pretend’, ‘Up Yours Your Honour’, ‘My name is Mary’ and ‘Mammy’s Boy’.
As an Actor and Writer Suzanne is able to create character on the page as well as on stage. She goes there emotionally and her bedrock is brutal honesty. Her storytelling combines humour with relatable life situations that challenge her characters. Her own fighting spirit informs these characters, making them memorable. Suzanne’s collection of plays are available to read on request. And part of her award-winning poetry collection is on the poetry page.
